External Examiners

The External Examiner Handbook provides details of the roles, rights and responsibilities of external examiners.

External Examiners are expected to attend at least one subject assessment board per tenure and the Progression and Award Board annually. All External Examiners are required to submit an annual report to QAE within 4 weeks of the board attended.

Course External Examiners responsibilities will span their professional subject knowledge and their expertise as an academic in the operation of courses.

The annual Course External Examiner Report for the 2018/2019 academic session is now available. Please note that this must be completed online but a Sample External Examiner Course Report has also been made available for you to review prior to your online submission, should this be required.

Please note that payments are released once reports have been received, approved, and attendance at the assessment board has been confirmed.
